Joe Benedetto

external project collaborator

Director – Feature Film: The Four Walls of Charlotte Moreland

Joe Benedetto was born in Brooklyn, New York. After attending Pace University, he wrote, produced, directed and starred in the feature film “Unlimited Potential” at age 20.

Joe’s 2013 comedy/fantasy feature film “A Guy Named Rick” was released on DVD & VOD. He wrote, produced, and directed the film (and plays a supporting role as God). His 23-min. b&w crime noir “Hide the Sausage” screened at 28 film festivals in 2015 & 2016, and was acquired for worldwide distribution on ShortsTV (the theatrical distributor of all the Academy Award nominated short films).

In addition to co-writing and co-producing the upcoming 2020 release “Sarah Q.” (starring Academy Award nominees Burt Young and Sally Kirkland), Joe was hired to write the screenplays “The Jersey 4,” “Devastation,” and “Amazin’” (based on Pulitzer Prize winner Jimmy Breslin’s book “Can’t Anybody Here Play This Game?” about the 1962 New York Mets). The latter of which will be produced by Academy Award winning producer Brad Wyman (“Monster”) and directed by Emmy nominee Matthew Penn.

In late 2019, Joe produced the thriller/horror feature film “Slapface” (now in post).

Joe is an executive producer on the upcoming feature film “The Man Who Saved Paris” starring Stanley Tucci, Kristin Scott Thomas, Tom Wilkinson, and Jean Reno. In the Fall of 2020, Joe will direct the feature film “Tale of the Wet Dog” from his own screenplay.
