Dan Katzman has twenty five plus years of experience in the motion picture industry.

His esteemed career has been all about directing, producing, and putting talented creative people together. Dan has worked on over fifty feature films. Among them are “Stuart Little 2,” “Bye Bye Man,” “Mr. Church” starring Eddie Murphy, “Maggie” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, “Friends With Benefits” and “Down with Love.” He has worked with notable directors to include Bruce Beresford, “Driving Miss Daisy,” Phillip Noyce “Patriot Games,” and “Clear and Present Danger.” These legendary directors trust him beyond first AD duties; many times employing him as second unit director and not just for driving shots. Additionally, Dan has worked for every major studio to include Universal, Paramount, Warner Brothers, Sony Pictures, and Disney.

Television has also been an important part of his career. He is proud to have worked on the critically acclaimed remake of “Roots.” He also worked on the TV series “In Plain Sight,” “The Man Show,” “Pacific Blue,” “Sweet Valley High”, CBS’s “No Activity” with Will Ferrell and NBC’s “Siberia.” His vast experience in TV includes working for such networks as ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, USA and Lifetime.

Dan has been the “go to guy” for first time directors as well. His versatility in the directing arena he has led him to guide such first time directors as Oscar winner Shirley Maclaine and Oscar winner Helen Mirren’s first films. He also assisted two time Oscar winner Barbara Kopple in her first feature “Havoc” starring Anne Hathaway. Peyton Reed is another exciting director that Dan helped on his first film. Peyton is now a tent pole director who went on to direct “Ant Man.” He’s been a trusted first AD for Randal Kleiser “Grease”, Gary Fleder “The Runaway Jury,” and Thomas Carter “Save the Last dance.”

Universal Pictures/Blumhouse “Happy Death Day” – of which he was a big part – grossed over 150 million dollars. Next up for Dan is producing and working as 1st AD on the film “Knuckle" with Gary Oldman in New Orleans and Co-Producing with Director David Ayer (Training Day, Fury, End of Watch, Suicide Squad and Bright) on his next picture in Los Angeles.
