Love music shelter

A talented teen and her mother navigate homelessness in this urban tale about hope & the power of social change. This compelling production also has heart with a major give-back component.

DELIKATESSEN

In the aftermath of the Holocaust, Auschwitz survivors, Yossi and David Shapiro open what is to become a landmark New York City delicatessen, aptly named Shapiro’s. By 1972, financial struggles, an insidious hate crime and the opening of a mysterious German delicatessen across the street threaten to derail the brothers’ livelihood. Coincidence? Conspiracy? A little of both?!

At the crazy intersection of Love and Family, sometimes it's the friendships that we nurture that sparkle sunshine back into our lives…

About Us

Over The Rainbow's mission is to shed a bright light on topics that are uncomfortable, stories that enlighten and spark change, and subjects that are based on or inspired by true events. We believe art reflects life, and we are making it our business to share these stories through film, theater and television productions.

We selectively nurture, develop and produce projects that have a socially-minded "call to action" message, making community engagement and social reciprocity an integral part of the production experience. Our projects not only seek to enrich lives by building and sustaining movements for social change, but also support greater philanthropic initiatives through a targeted donation component. We aim to donate a percentage of profits from each project to relevant programs and charities, helping to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Our ultimate goal is to create artful productions that recognize and confront oppressive structures, helping to break the cycle and dismantle the oppression against marginalized groups.

With our first film, a scripted musical aptly named Love Music Shelter, we will be donating a percentage of profits to organizations like The Door, a drop-in center for disconnected and at-risk youth. In future productions, we hope to address other important issues such as gun control in schools, drunk driving (with Mothers Against Drunk Driving), drug addiction amongst teens, tech addiction, alcoholism, prison reform, postpartum depression, sex trafficking, hate crimes, antisemitism, and the "insta everything" lifestyle.

We are the music makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams
